17 Insanely Good Gifts For New Business Owners

This Post Is All About 17 Insanely Good Gifts For New Business Owners!

Let’s get real. Business owners took a HIT in 2020. Well, most of us did anyway. I imagine Jeff Bezos is still living large.

But, most of us are small business owners! And between the mandated government shutdown and the decrease in consumer spending, this was a very unsettling year to say the least!

If you are looking to get gifts for new business owners, gifts for small business owners, girl boss gifts, and more, look no further!

As a ten+ year small business owner myself (see my photography business here: www.annewilmusphotography.com), these are just a few things that any business woman would love to have!

(This post may contain affiliate links, which means I’ll receive a small commission if you purchase through my link, at no extra cost to you).

Office Gifts

Desk Organizer

This beautiful gold desk organizer is solid yet simple and would look right at home in any chic office setting. Plus, it’s under $50!

Cute Pen Set

Personally, these are the only pens I will write with. They are SO smooth! They write in velvety black ink but you can get them in several different outer styles and colors (so I recommend picking ones that go with the office aesthetic or brand colors of the business owner you are purchasing for!)

Stationary

There are so many great options for purchasing beautiful stationary, either personalized or not. I love to buy from Etsy to get a unique design and, most importantly, support other creative small business owners.

Travel Mug

Because the business owner you know is most definitely on the go at some point during their busy days!

Office Wall Decor

Get the new business owner in your life something to decorate their office. It can be cute, inspirational, sentimental, stylish, etc. just make sure it matches their office aesthetic! I absolutely love this rose gold wall clock from Amazon (under $20!!!). Etsy is also a great place to look!

Tech Gifts

Ring Light

Business owners need to be on social media these days, like it or not. And there’s more and more pressure to not just be on it, but to produce quality content and lots of it, including videos! Quality videos lead customers to buy!

This is the exact ring light that I have and use for my photography business IGTV videos. I like it because it’s light weight, adjustable in height, has a built in phone holder, remote, and most importantly for me, you can adjust the temp and brightness of the light. I highly recommend this! Plus, it’s under $100 which is actually pretty cheap for a quality ring light of this size.

Phone Tripod and Clip Light

Did I get my point across that social media video is soooo important for growing a small business? But, you aren’t always going to want to lug the large ring light around. So, when taking video on the go, this little light and stand are perfect! Again, this is the exact set I have.

Wireless Earbuds

Taking calls, zoom meetings, etc. are all so much easier with earbuds that allow you to move freely. These ones have nearly 4,000 great reviews and are less than $25!

Noise Cancelling Headphones

If you have kids and do work from home, this needs no explanation.

Laser Printer

My color laser printer is legit my favorite purchase of the year! I use it so much and the ink shows no signs of running out! It’s a beast. This is the exact one I have!

I-pad

New business owners often work 80+ hours a week. The portability of an I-pad makes working in the little crevices of time you can carve out, a lot easier!

Style Gifts

Initial Necklace

A girl boss can show off her confidence with this classic but bold gold necklace. The one I linked above is $50 from Nordstrom but Amazon has a very similar looking one (bulkier chain) for just $11.99!

Silk Face Mask

Hopefully by this time next year, we can remove face masks from all need-to-have type lists!!! Alas, I write this in 2020 and we very much need face masks! I love these silk ones because they look good with work clothes and are soft and nice for your skin! (This is also a small business so you can feel good about supporting it!)

Leather Backpack

I love the style of this backpack! It comes in multiple colors too.

Relaxation Gifts

Silk Pillow Case

Silk pillowcases are better for skin, hair, and wrinkles, than other fabrics! So it makes sense that a stressed out, sleeping very little new business owner could use one! I personally love mine and don’t let anyone else in my family use it, haha.

Robe

Whether you wear this to work from home or after finally coming home after a long day, I firmly believe that everyone needs a plush robe! Lord knows I live in mine.

Slippers

Same as the robe, slippers make a long day better. I recently purchased this pair and not only are they affordable, they are cute and comfy! The fur is so soft!

12 Insanely Cute Face Masks For Kids

This Post Is All About Face Masks For Kids!

(This post may contain affiliate links, which means I’ll receive a small commission if you purchase through my link, at no extra cost to you).

Christmas is coming and well, so is a huge surge in Coronavirus. Which means, more mask wearing is in our immediate future.

The good news, (if you want to call it that) is that this gives us an opportunity to get our kids something they both need and will like, since these ones I’ve linked below are incredibly cute!

(I’ve even linked some with matching headbands and scrunchies!)

Masks make the perfect stocking stuffer or present topper!!!

Don’t limit your gift ideas to just masks for kids! So, although this post is all about about face masks for kids, specifically girls, a cute face mask would make a great teacher gift this year!

For example, a cute embroidered flower one (ETSY has sooo many pretty ones!) for female teachers. Plus, you are supporting small businesses when buying on Etsy!

Or, masks and gator necks with their favorite sports team for either gender.

(I am working on a list of cute face masks for teachers and will link it here as soon as it’s ready!)

Sports Mom Gifts | 37 Genius Ideas

Are you looking for some awesome sports mom gifts? No matter the season or the sport, moms and dads make the world go round when it comes to youth sports! Get the sports mom in your life the gift she deserves!

This post is all about 37 Genius Sports Mom Gifts!

I think we can all agree that our kids are the most important people in our lives! We’d do anything for them, including driving them to practices 5 nights a week and sitting at weekend tournaments in the 95 degree heat, pouring rain, and freezing temps, just to watch them enjoy playing their favorite sports.

And I admit, I love watching them play as much as they enjoy doing it. It’s honestly one of my very favorite parts of parenting.

And we all know that there is really no off season anymore! These youth sports span multiple seasons and weather conditions.

So, what better gift idea for the sports mom (or dad or grandparents) in your life to make these youth sporting events more comfortable and enjoyable!

See the list below for the best items! And here are some awesome ways to present them!

#1: Buy the backpack and then pack it with a bunch of stuff on this list!

#2: Most of the items on this list would be great stocking stuffers! Such a great and easy way to fill up a Christmas stocking!

#3: These also make great gifts for grandparents who come to watch all the games!

Sports Mom Gifts : Everyday Items

Backpack

Trust me, you will want and NEED a sturdy and comfortable backpack to carry all the supplies and snacks from your car to the field. If you have little kids who don’t like to walk much or just a TON of stuff, you may even want to bring a wagon to pull it all with!

I love this versatile Adidas one that is unisex, has padded straps, and thick sturdy zippers.

You may also like:

First Aid Kit

Keep the whole first aid kit in your car and a separate pack of band aids in your bag. I PROMISE you that someone on your child’s team will need a bandaid or more nearly everything single game.

Sneakers

If your child plays in tournaments, you will likely be doing a lot of walking. From the car to the field and around the hotels and towns you are staying in if it’s a travel tourny.

Tip: Get a pair in your team’s colors!

Wipes

You’ll need wipes for hands, faces, dirty bleachers, etc. Especially if you have any younger kids with you! Keep a pack in your bag and another one in your car.

Mask

Can’t go anywhere without a mask these days! Get them in your team’s colors from your school, PTA, a friend with a Cricut or buy online!

You may also like:

Hand Sanitizer

You’re gonna want one for your own bag, your car, and your kid’s equipment bag.

HOT ITEM! A must-have and great stocking stuffer idea!

Phone Charger

You will use your phone more than you ever think you will when at your kid’s sports! In the car for directions to the away field, and in between innings or at halftime to check your emails. Your other kids will want to use it to watch YouTube. And your scorekeeper may even use an app to keep track of the game which you can follow on your phone. And some areas may not have WIFI and your battery will be drained fast!

Basically, you can expect your phone to be used A LOT during a long game day or tournament and you’ll want to make sure you still have a battery for the drive home! Get yourself a portable charger for your bag!

Chapstick

Hot, cold, windy, raining- the weather doesn’t matter. You will always need Chapstick at games. Your lips will be dry from the cheering!

Tumbler

Fill it with ice water or a mixed drink, no one will ever know the difference!

Snacks and Water

You’re gonna need more snacks and waters than you ever thought possible! Especially if you have other kids with you. Plus, with Covid, many snack bars are not operating so you will be left hungry and thirsty if you don’t pack your own things. Keep a few snack bags and bottles of water in your backpack and a lot of extras in the car!

Gift Idea #4: Get your sports mom (wife) a stocking full of her favorite chips, gum, bottled juice, and candy.

Sports Mom Gifts : Cold Weather
Sports

Heated Chair

I was recently freezing at my son’s fall ball game at the end of October when I heard another mom talking about her heated chair. My head whipped around so fast to ask her about it that I nearly hurt myself, lol. I immediately texted my husband in the dugout with a link so he could get it for me for Christmas.

(Note: Make sure to buy the power pack too)

You may also like:

Uggs

My feet are always cold in the winter. I wear slipper and heavy socks 24/7 if I’m at home. Uggs are the only shoes that keep my toes warm outside!

Winter Coat

Get the warmest, longest winter coat you can afford! You will be sitting outside for HOURS and not moving so you’re bound to get cold. Especially if it’s windy!

These would make a great gift for your mom too!

Mittens

I prefer mittens over gloves because you can put a little hand warmer packet in them and you’ll actually be able to feel your fingers for the drive home!

Winter Hat

This is the perfect accessory to sport your teams colors or logo while keeping warm. The one I linked above comes in several color options.

Warm Socks

These are a must, even with Uggs. Fuzzy socks and Uggs are the only thing that keep my feet warm outside.

Hand and Feet Warmers

Get these for your mittens! They work! These are also a great stocking stuffer idea for just about anyone! My dad has been getting them for us for every Christmas since I was in high school.

Thermos

Having a hot drink REALLY helps keep you warm and not miserable when the wind and 40 degree temps are bearing down on you in the bleachers.

Sports Mom Gifts : Rainy Weather Sports

Sperry Duck Boots

These are both cute and easy to walk in. I’ve tried the tall rubber rain boots and while they look good, they make my toes cold and are so high that they’re hard to walk in (I’m 5’4).

Golf Umbrella

Get a big umbrella because chances are, your spouse/kids/friends will want to share!

Poncho

These may look kinda silly, but they work! Get one in your teams colors!

Rain Jacket

Rain Jackets are cuter than a poncho and great to have when it’s just light rain. (Use the poncho for heavy rain to protect your legs too.) The one I linked above comes in multiple color options so you can get one that matches your team!

Sports Mom Gifts : Hot Weather Sports

Shade Chair

You’ll love a chair with a built in shade if a tent is too much to carry. My friend has this chair and we call it her Cadillac, haha. This is on my list for next summer’s baseball tournaments!

Pop-Up Tent

A tent is the ultimate way to stay safe from the sun. Just be prepared to share it! I like this one for its easy set-up and extra shade panel on the back.

Sunscreen

You’re gonna need to put sunscreen on throughout the day if you’re at a tournament. I recommend starting with a lotion for the best coverage and then keep the spray kind on hand for touch-ups, especially on your shoulders.

The one I linked above is my favorite because it’s not sticky or greasy like a lot of sprays are.

Bug Spray

Any type of grass field you are on will be full of bugs. If they tend to bother you, be sure to keep some spray in your bag.

Personally, I like to get the kind with Deet because ticks with their nasty Lyme disease are everywhere here. But, I’ve heard the oil and natural ones work well for most bugs too.

Baseball Cap

Baseball caps are great to keep your hair out of your eyes and the sun off your face.

The one I linked above comes in many color options so you can match your team!

A Personal Favorite! I love slides!!!

Slides

If you read my blog on a regular basis, you’ll notice that I put slides in nearly every gift list I do. They are literally the most comfortable shoe ever and will keep you cooler than sneakers on the hot hot days.

Cooling Towel

Get a multi-pack and have a cooling towel for yourself and each of your kids. When you’re on the go, just pour more water on it when it starts to lose effectiveness. They really help to keep you cool!

Fan

A small battery operating fan is nice little gadget to have, both for keeping cool and keeping bugs away. If you have a stroller aged child that will be coming with you to games, this will make a world of difference in keeping them cool, especially if you are trying to get them to nap at the game!

Cooler

A cooler is an absolute must if you are at an all-day tournament in the sun. Get one on wheels with a handle or a backpack kind so it’s easy to carry.

The one I linked above is great because it has wheels and a handle, will hold ice for up to 5 days, and can be used as an extra seat!

Sunglasses

If it’s sunny, you need sunglasses to see the game, you just do. I like aviators but pick whatever kind you love best!

Just For Fun

Shirt

Everyone who attends multiple games a year needs several shirts! Your school or PTA may be selling them as a fundraiser. If so, I recommend buying from them! But, if you are looking for something more general, here are some ideas!

You may also like:

Cricut

If the sports mom in your life is a DIYer, get her a Cricut! There is literally no limit to the amount of things she can personalize! Shirts, sweats, water-bottles, car stickers, etc.

Megaphone

This could be really fun to pump your kids up with! Just don’t heckle anyone!

Pompoms

Up your cheering game for any sports with your pompoms in your teams colors! If you have other kids with you, they will love to use these too!

The ones that I linked above come in many color options so you can get the colors of your team!

Mascot Head

If you want to be EXTRA! Lol

The one I linked is obviously a tiger but just search your home teams mascot in Amazon if you want to do this. It would be pretty funny and the kids would love it!

The Best Cleaning Supplies From Amazon To Always Have Around

This post is all about: The Best Cleaning Supplies From Amazon To Always Have Around

Yesterday, I spilled my venti mocha coffee drink all over the arm rest and cushion of my couch. Later that day, my son got red hair spray paint all over another cushion of the same couch. Ugh, 2020.

I used my new Bissell Little Green Machine, which I love, to try to conquer the messes. It worked pretty dang well considering the scope of the red and dark brown stains on the light gray couch.

But, I wanted to see if I could get the stains out totally, so I do what I do best and asked the good people on Instagram.

This isn’t the first time I’ve asked a cleaning question on my page and my follower/friends always come through! So, I decided to put their recommendations along with my own in one comprehensive post for you! Best yet, you can order these all online if you don’t want to go to the store!

Now is a great time to stock up a bit on cleaning supplies. Not only for Covid reasons but also because winter is coming and that means everyone will be inside. Making messes. Trudging in slushy snow. Sneezing and coughing. Spilling things. I could go on, but I digress. Let’s just get to the good stuff!

Gift Idea Alert:

Use the items in the essentials portion of the list to make a gift basket for the new homeowner in your life! Or yourself!

(This post may contain affiliate links, which means I’ll receive a small commission if you purchase through my link, at no extra cost to you).

THE ESSENTIALS:

These are the multi-purpose cleaning staples you want to always keep on hand!

Bleach

Disinfecting Wipes

Hard Surface All Purpose Cleaning Spray

Aerosol Disinfectant Spray

Glass Cleaner Foam

White Vinegar and Apple Cidar Vinegar

Baking Soda

Magic Erasers

Blue Dawn Dish Soap

Washable Scrubbing Cloths

In these next sections, I’ve broken out the cleaning supplies you’ll want to keep around for specific uses.

*Note: At the time of writing this article, some of these items are low in stock or higher in price than usual due to Covid-19. If these items seem higher in price than you can get them in your local store, don’t hesitate to get them when you see them in stock locally!

BEST AMAZON CLEANING SUPPLIES:

FOR YOUR LAUNDRY

Downy Infusions Lavender and Vanilla Bean Fabric Softener

This smells so friggin good. Your sheets will thank you, your nose will thank you, anyone within sniffing distance will thank you!

See My Post On Deep Cleaning Your Laundry With These 3 Items

Arm & Hammer Laundry Booster, Borax*, and Tide Powder

I also use the Tide Powder for all of my regular laundering (and when I mop the floors -mixed with lots of hot water!)

Stain Stick Spray

Using a spray or gel to pretreat anything my kids get on their clothes is my only hope of ever getting the stain out. My kids are little and MESSY with grass, dirt, or food on their clothes every single day. You can leave this on for up to a week before you actually wash the item! I go through a lot of this stuff since I don’t do laundry every day!

BEST AMAZON CLEANING SUPPLIES:

FOR YOUR FLOORS

The O-Cedar Spin Mop And Bucket

This mop can be used on pretty much any hard surface you can imagine! I use it on my hardwood floors and I’ve even mopped my Trex deck with it.

You won’t believe how dirty your floors actually are when you dump out the water! It’s nearly black! Bleeeegh!

I use mine with 1 little teaspoon of Tide Laundry Powder mixed with very very hot water. The Tide smells great while mopping!

Reader Recommended!

Spot Treatment

If you read the opening paragraph of my post, this is the number one spot treater that my reader friends recommended for my couch stains! Would work on carpet and upholstery.

Carpet Vacuum and Hardwood Floor Vacuum– I don’t have a link for either of these because I have not found ones that I love. It will be different depending on your own home- type of flooring, if you have a pet that sheds, etc. For example, the Dyson Cordless Stick Vac was great for dog hair but terrible at picking up crumbs.

BEST AMAZON CLEANING SUPPLIES:

FOR YOUR KITCHEN

Bar Keepers Friend

Bar Keepers Friend was another recommendation from my Instagram community and the number of people that recommended this for a sink stain I had was overwhelming. Like, I had this stainless steal sink stain for 5 years and I tried a lot of different things to get rid of it, including Magic Erasers which usually work on everything!

But, it was the Bar Keepers Friend that worked like magic to get rid of the marks after FIVE YEARS of set in stain.

(I tried the powder kind too and I prefer the liquid)

Stainless Steel Cleaner

If you have stainless steel appliances, this is a must. Other products will clean them, but you need this special polish to get them streak free, shiny, and pretty again.

BEST AMAZON CLEANING SUPPLIES:

FOR YOUR BATHROOMS

Comet with Bleach and Scrub Brush

This cleaning product comes recommended by my mom. I clearly remember her scrubbing our bathtub on the regular with this stuff.

Unfortunately, I did not inherit my mom’s penchant for cleaning bathtubs and ours have built up and gotten scuzzier than I’d care to admit. I tried a few sprays made for tubs and showers but the Comet with Bleach and a nice stiff scrub brush was the only thing that worked. And it worked well! My tubs look brand new after I use this!

Clorox Toilet Wand

There is nothing grosser to me than cleaning the toilet. But then, to leave the brush that you scrubbed it with just sitting there in bathroom. NO THANKS!

So, I use these disposable things and I keep a set in each bathroom.

FOR YOUR FURNITURE:

Spot Cleaning Machine

I recently bought the older version of this (no longer available on Amazon Prime) and it has already come in handy several times! I used it on my steps and it got out all kinds of stains, on my couch for my recent spills, and in my studio where it got out a champagne stain that sat there for about a year and drove me nuts until I finally used this on it!

Dry Dusters

Gawd, why does everything get dusty sooo fast?! I like these because they are quick to use and you can reach high spaces with them. DUSTING SUCKS but at least these make is easier!

Baby and Kids Christmas Gifts ~ 29 Toys That Won’t Drive You Crazy

This post is all about Baby and Kids Christmas Gifts ~ 29 Toys That Won’t Drive You Crazy!

(This post may contain affiliate links, which means I’ll receive a small commission if you purchase through my link, at no extra cost to you).

As a parent, celebrating Christmas with your baby and young kids is one of the best and most cherished parts of parenting. All of the struggles of the day to day grind seem to disappear as we watch our kid’s faces light up on Christmas morning.

There is so much fun to be had in the month of December, from looking at lights, decorating your own home, visiting Santa in the cute outfits, to watching them tear open presents on Christmas morning.

The only thing I don’t love about Christmas is the after-math. The gargantuan pile of new toys that you now have to find a place for. And look at. And listen to. Bah-humbug.

Fortunately, there is a solution! It’s called: wooden toys! (You may also know these as open-ended toys, educational toys, Montessori toys, learning toys, or developmental toys).

And we can get them from several different places, my favorites being Etsy and Amazon. (When buying from Etsy, just be sure to check wait and shipping times to be sure you get it in time for the holiday!)

After having 3 kids and buying (and subsequently getting rid of) countless large, loud, and distracting plastic light-up toys, I’ve come to love the simple wooden ones. Wood toys are great for a few reasons:

  • They look good in your home! Some of these wooden toys are actually amazing decor items for your baby’s nursery!
  • They don’t need batteries.
  • They don’t take up as much room as many of the plastic toys.
  • They aren’t as noisy as the battery operated light-up plastic toys.
  • They promote creativity and imagination.
  • In many cases, you are supporting smaller businesses who hand-make these products.
  • Wooden Toys are good for any age, from the most basic baby toys to more creative ones for elementary school kids.

***Just be sure you aren’t getting and giving a toy with small pieces to a baby/child who may choke on it!

Below, I’ve grouped the toys into two groups, based on age. Of course, many of these toys are appropriate for multiple age groups and can be used for many years.

Wooden Toys For Babies

Wooden Baby Gym

God, I wish I had this version of a play gym when my kids were little. The ones we used were so large and had such bold colors, I hated having them laying out on the floor. This one is sooo cute though!

Tip: Pair with a super soft mat or blanket for ultimate comfort. This little ABC rug would look adorable with it! Or, put the rug in baby’s room in general! And it’s super affordable!!! (Comes in other colors as well!)

Wooden Rainbow

This rainbow is from Etsy and I’ve bought multiple wooden toys from this seller for my photography studio. His craftsmanship is phenomenal! Incredibly low price point as well. I highly recommend!

Cute Teething Toys

These would make an adorable gift topper or stocking stuffer.

Wood Stacking Rings

These are so pretty and can be made in other colors as well. I would definitely display these in the nursery.

Teething Rattles

Perfect for a boy or girl and another excellent stocking stuffer.

Pacifier Clip

This comes in a ton of color options so you can get a few to match different outfits. Add a cute pacifier if giving as a gift!

Bonus Options

While these items aren’t wooden, they would pair perfectly with any of the above gifts: Muslin Blankets, Pacifiers, Stacking Cups (good for water play too!), Soft Chewable Blocks, An Organic Romper ( I brought my daughter home in the same one I listed below!), and Cute Bandana Bibs.

Toddler and Pre-School Age Kids Wooden Toys

Wooden Tool Set

How cute is this little tool set? It’s something I wouldn’t mind sitting around my house! Much better than the plastic one we had for my son. It was not sturdy and always tipped over!

Wood Numbers and Counting Set

Help your child learn their numbers with this little set! It’s so cute, I wouldn’t mind having it sit out on a shelf!

Toddler Busy Board

All three of my kids loved to buckle and unbuckle things. I am not patient enough to make this kind of thing on my own!

Wooden Rocker

This thing is so versatile! Climb on it, under it, turn it over and seesaw with it or rock on it. Throw a blanket over it and it becomes a hideout. Turn it sideways and it becomes a little lemonade stand. The possibilities are nearly limitless for creative play and make-believe.

Wooden Play Kitchen

My youngest has a play kitchen very similar to this very affordable one pictured above. It’s something I don’t mind having sitting in our living room. I use a large cute basket to store all of the accessories and you can’t even tell it has toys in it!

Bonus Ideas for Cute Accessories and Storage:

Wooden Camera

As a professional photographer, I am particularly found of this cute wooden camera. Kids are soooo used to us always taking their picture nowadays, this is the perfect little gift to let them pretend they are a grown-up like us!

Wooden Block Set

Wooden blocks are probably the most classic and timeless toy there is! And these ones are priced right!

Wooden Train Set

Another perfect toy for boys and girls that they will continue to play with for years! As a bonus idea, you can get them new trains and tracks as they get older so you have gift ideas for the next few birthdays and holidays.

The trains would make great stocking stuffers as well!

Wooden Climber

This one is great for your child who can’t stop climbing on the furniture!

Baby Stroller / Buggy

This cute toy can be used in so many ways and will be used for years. Your child can use it for baby dolls, a grocery cart, and it can also help a toddler learn to walk!

Wooden Doll House

This one would be so fun for kids (and moms) who love to decorate as well as play pretend. Your child can make decorations for each season and holiday, just like you do with your real home!

Wooden Doctor and Dentist Kit

I once bought a plastic mouth toy from the Target dollar spot for $3 and it was one of the most played with toys my kids had (for a few weeks at least, haha). This set would last way longer than the little one we had.

Indoor Mini Basketball Hoop

This basketball hoop would be perfect in a bedroom or basement for your sports loving kiddo.
